General Election Hustings – 22 May 2017

An interesting evening at St John’s Church, chaired by Jim Perryman, attracted around 250 people to hear the five candidates:
Rob Ballantyne (Green), Harry Cottam (UKIP), Richard Dickson (Liberal Democrat), Bally Singh (Labour), Jeremy Wright (Conservative):
give their introductory statements and then respond to a series of pre-submitted questions from the floor. Sadly, one individual sought to disrupt proceedings early on because of a lack of understanding about the question submission process, but we are grateful for their ultimate cooperation which meant that we were able to continue with the evening as planned and to hear from each of the five candidates in a respectful and polite atmosphere.
